So I started writing verses about these simple things and turned them into a song. A joyful, peaceful, and uplifting song, easy to sing along with kids at school, on a road trip in the family car or on the bus to summer camp, while strolling in nature or trekking in the mountains, or with friends sitting around a bonfire on a beach somewhere, talking, laughing, sharing the moment, having fun, and for a moment forgetting the stress and anxiety of urban life and all the sad things populating social media and TV news.
I wanted the song to capture the innocence and insouciance most adults forget they had when they were young, with a light, indie-folk acoustic ambiance and songwriter-style lyrics reminding us of these simple things. Let me know in the comments if I succeeded.
