THE SECRET by @domelgabor 2025
I usually write upbeat, uplifting, positive, and energetic lyrics, but this time, I wanted to try writing a love song - something deeper, more meaningful. It might sound corny, but I wanted to give it a try.
So, I wrote the first verse, but was not happy with it. It was not personal enough, and I couldn't feel it. As I love songs that I can relate to, I had to write something more personal.
An old souvenir of one of my teenage relationships came back to mind, and the words started to flow. It was both pleasant and emotional.
I wrote about the story of how we first kissed, on a bench in a park, just as it often happened for young couples back then in the 80s and 90s.
No phone, no social media, no internet, just two people sitting on a bench, in a park, talking to each other, listening to each other, reinventing the world, laughing, looking into each other's eyes, and eventually kissing tenderly.
The souvenir and memory of that moment are mine, and so I could have chosen a male voice to sing this song, but I preferred to reverse the roles, as if she were the one singing these words describing the scene and the feelings felt in that moment.
I first wrote two verses, then decided to try them out on Suno to check how they sounded, in case I had to make some modifications. After a few trials, this version came out. I was speechless and almost had tears in my eyes.
The voice and singing tones and flows were perfect, powerful, and emotional, almost cinematic, like made for a love scene in a movie. It was as if all the sensations and emotions from that moment that day came flooding back to my mind and heart. Just by listening to the words, I was transported back to that specific moment. I could see it, I could almost feel it.
I tried to write the chorus and additional verses to complete the song, but nothing good came out, and I couldn't recapture the same voice, music, and vibe.
So, I understood that these two verses were enough to describe what I had in my heart, the feelings and emotions of that very particular and personal moment that occurred decades ago, but still resonates somehow deep in my heart.
