ONLY TRYING TO HELP by @domelgabor 2025

Building on my earlier post (check it out here), "ONLY TRYING TO HELP" is the second Math Rock song I composed two weekends ago. At that time, I was overwhelmed with anxiety, fears, and doubts following a disagreement with a colleague at work. With no one to confide in, I turned to creativity as an outlet for my emotions and distress, writing the lyrics to three songs that emerged over that weekend.

Music often serves as an outlet for emotions we may not be able to articulate or express directly to others. Instead, we channel these feelings into lyrics that reflect our mental state and emotions at the time of writing or the moment that inspired them.

This Math Rock song is about the struggles you might face in your daily relationships, whether at home, at work, or even in your love life. It reflects those times when you feel you give more than you get, try to help without expecting anything in return, and mostly get blamed instead.

I felt compelled to write this song because I found it extremely unfair that I was being held accountable and responsible for events affecting my colleague, even though I had no involvement or control over them, nor did I ask for any of them to happen. I attempted to explain myself, but it was like talking to a wall, leaving me feeling upset, annoyed, and frustrated.

You likely recognize these emotions and can relate to them, having probably already experienced them yourself at work, at home, or with family and friends.

I aimed to convey those feelings and emotions through powerful, profound, and meaningful lyrics in that song.
