YOU CAN FEEL IT by @domelgabor 2026

"YOU CAN FEEL IT" by @domelgabor 2026

My latest track, "YOU CAN FEEL IT" by @domelgabor 2026, is a gentle, soft, and cozy deep house song with warm, soulful female vocals and relaxing vibes. Ideal for rooftop bars, lounge background music, and a Deep House DJ set.

I developed a love for House Music in the late 80s when I began visiting bars, clubs, and "discothèques" regularly.

The late 1980s electronic music scene in France marked a pivotal, transitional period, moving away from mainstream synth-pop toward nascent rave and warehouse culture. It served as a crucial bridge between the experimental space-disco era of the late 1970s and the explosive "French Touch" house movement of the mid-1990s. Key pioneers began introducing house and techno to Parisian clubs in the late 1980s, setting the stage for a new underground movement.

The late 80s witnessed the emergence of the "Rave Age" in France, characterized by early, secret warehouse parties and underground nights in Paris. The scene was heavily influenced by Chicago house, Detroit techno, and the import of acid house, which began to dominate underground scenes.

One of the most influential figures, Laurent Garnier, began DJing in the late 80s, bringing a deep, hypnotic, and melodic techno sound to the Parisian scene. While David Guetta, who also started his career in the late 80s, hosted early house nights at gay bars and clubs in Paris.

In Bordeaux, where I grew up, some clubs were known for Acid House and Techno, and I spent many nights dancing in a frenzy to these electronic and industrial sounds. Yet my favorite form of House Music was the gospel-influenced, deep, and soulful house tracks from the US and UK, which formed the backbone of late 80s club culture in France.

The era was defined by Chicago/NYC imports and artists like Marshall Jefferson and Frankie Knuckles, who described house as "church for people who have fallen from grace."

For me, in the late 80s and more especially the early 90s, Gospel House was the most uplifting House Music genre, blending upbeat house rhythms with spiritual, diva-driven vocals, such as

  • Robin S. – "Show Me Love", and "I Want to Thank You" (1993)

  • Barbara Tucker – "I Get Lifted" (1994)

  • Martha Wash (or Martha Walsh) – one of the most recognizable voices of the 80s and early 90s, but also one of the voices of the band "Two Tons O' Fun" and "The Weather Girls" with Izora Armstead, and their famous hits "Raining Men" (1982) and "Just Us" (1979).

  • Martha was also the voice of "Black Box" with hits such as "Everybody, Everybody" (1989) and "I Don't Know Anybody Else" (1990)

  • Martha also provided the iconic vocal "Everybody Dance Now!" for C+C Music Factory's 1990 hit "Gonna Make You Sweat."

  • Jocelyn Brown, another one of the most iconic and recognizable voices of the late 80s and early 90s, had hits such as "Somebody Else's Guy" (1984)

This list is obviously non-exhaustive, as there are many more great voices from the late 80s and early 90s House Music scene. Yet these are my favorites, and they inspired me to make this song, "YOU CAN FEEL IT," reminiscent of this great House Music era.

Hope you'll like it. Feel free to let me know what you think about it in the comments.
