RUSTED HOPE - New Alternative Electronic Industrial Political Rock Single by DOMELGABOR

"RUSTED HOPE" is an alternative electronic rock / political rock track with a gritty industrial vibe, featuring lyrics that explore today's state of the world, corroded dreams, diminishing hope, societal decline, and rebellious renewal.

The Inspiration

"RUSTED HOPE" follows in the same vein as my previous track "BASIC RIGHTS" with the same tone and the same mood, edging on an angry, controlled dystopia, with powerful delivery and fragile defiance. It sounds like a cross between Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, and Nothing but Thieves.

I must say, I like the sound of these two songs, "BASIC RIGHTS" and "RUSTED HOPE," and I think more songs like these will follow, covering the same topics, with the same voice and musical style. I created the band name "THE REMOVERS" for these songs, because I have a clear picture in my mind of the type of band they could be—angry, young, talented musicians shouting about societal, generational, and global problems.

The Lyrics

Once again, with this song, the intro sets the tone:

[Intro]

Shadows invade the screens,

The world unravels at the seams.

Humans don’t look for solutions to their nonsense.

They just adapt to the problems and consequences.

This intro paints a bleak picture of modern societal apathy, where technological saturation ("Shadows invade the screens") coincides with systemic decay ("The world unravels at the seams").

And the rest of the lyrics describe a dystopian normalization, where instead of addressing the root causes of crises, humanity passively accepts dysfunction and learns to live within a broken reality.

The Creative Process and Themes

It echoes themes of technological alienation, with screens hiding reality and growing darker as information and disinformation about the current state of the world spread, along with existential apathy and a lack of proactive problem-solving. It also reflects the normalization of dysfunction, in which humans do not seek solutions to their problems but instead adapt to the"consequences" rather than fixing them.

It is important to write about these subjects because they are the present we live in, and everyone can relate to them, and also because I worry about my kids' future. Things evolve so fast nowadays that it has become more difficult to project ourselves or even to imagine what the future holds and how it will unfold.

I am already thinking about the lyrics for a 3rd song, building in my head as I write this post.

Once again, this song is based on personal experiences, criticisms, and points of view about our lives in general, the system, politics, technology, the current status of the world, and the flaws of human nature, which destroy rather than build a better future.

I understand that these topics are not the easiest to comprehend and digest when you hear them, especially in a song that uses strong metaphors and images to convey an urgent message to change things for the better. However, they reflect how many people feel in their daily lives nowadays.

The Mood behind the Sound

Based on some of my previous songs, "Math Rock" conveys the perfect mood for energetic, emotional tracks focused on human relationships and personal mental and physical struggles.

However, as I'm trying new music genres for my new songs, I'm starting to realize that "Alternative Electronic Rock" is ideal for an angry yet controlled, dystopian, and politically charged mood, like in my last two tracks, "BASIC RIGHTS" and now "RUSTED HOPE".

These songs are not mainstream, and they aren't meant to be. Like most of my songs, the lyrics are strong and very personal, and they probably won't resonate with everyone. However, they reflect my thoughts, words, feelings, and emotions—essentially what I think and feel, and what I try to express to the world. Give it a try; you might like some of them.

Lyrics

"RUSTED HOPE" by @domelgabor Lyrics

Shadows invade the screens

The world unravels at the seams

Humans don't look for solutions to their nonsense

They just adapt to the problems and consequences

I trace the lines of a fading hope

Promises cracked like an old rope

People build walls of alibis so thin

While cities choke on their own spin

Leaders preach from gilded towers

Feeding us scraps of borrowed hours

Hope was a spark in the dark storms

Now it feels like ash on believers' palms

We danced through riots, hand in fist

But trust vanished with the morning mist

Algorithms script our every sigh

Turning rebels into lullabies

We're the echoes screaming through the void

Torn by greed that we've employed

Hearts tangled in the machine's cold grind

Chasing truth, we'll never find

But hold on -let's switch the mode

Can we rewrite the code?

I've watched my father's hands grow frail

Carrying the ghosts of a fairer tale

Kids browse through wars like bedtime scrolls

While billionaires hoard the broken souls

Relationships fracture under fake neon weight

Is this the love and life we were born to hate?

How about human avoidance and procrastination

Often preferring quick fixes over long-term solutions

Changing their beliefs to fit negative situations

If humans focused as much on solving root problems

As they do into adapting to the consequences of them

The world would be a vastly different place then

Yet in the ruins, a seedling breaks free

Through hardened hearts and their debris

Voices still echo in the hollow hall

A bridge of hope against the coming fall

What if we topple the rusted throne

Plant flags in soil we've called our own

We're the echoes rising from the noise

Hearts reclaiming what the world destroys

No more slaves to the endless feed

We'll forge the light from the darkest seed

So, tell me, world, in this fractured dawn

Can we rebuild before we're gone?
