DOMELGABOR: ASCENT - A Progressive House track with Trance & Techno vibes.
"ASCENT" is a dark, cinematic, melodic, and hypnotic Progressive House track infused with Trance and Techno elements, creating an outer-space ambiance.
It serves as the first teaser single for my completed second album, "SPATIUM UNIVERSUM," a conceptual, sonically cohesive album to be released on 17.04.2026.
The birth of the "Ouverture" single of a Space Odyssey
"ASCENT" came to life almost by accident, created somewhat unintentionally as I was attempting to reconnect with my beginnings in experimental electronic music from six years ago.
I was working on a track and wanted to recapture my love for Progressive House, Techno, and Trance, and the feeling of creating an album rather than singles, as I have been doing these past five years.
I wanted to create a cinematic, hypnotic, immersive, and darkly euphoric track, with no vocals, no added voices, no lyrics, just pure instrumental, to leave room for the listener's interpretation and imagination.
In my experience, Progressive house, Trance, and Techno music serve as gateways to explore, both consciously and unconsciously, imaginative, physical, and ethereal realms, universes, and dimensions. Listening to this music allows your imagination to transport you to any place you desire and to travel within it.
For me, listening to this track again and again made me think of the stars and transported me to space. I felt like I was on a spaceship, right at launch, as the ignition triggered a massive upward thrust, overcoming gravity as I ascended through the atmosphere. And that's how I named this track "ASCENT" (meaning "rising" or "moving up through the air").
It felt like I was at the beginning of a space odyssey, on a long journey across the vast universe.
Once finished and satisfied with it (after quite a few attempts), I literally became addicted to this track and listened to it on repeat. I needed more. I wanted more of it. I wanted to make it last longer or immediately create similar songs to quench my thirst for that sound, vibe, atmosphere, and ambiance.
Listening to it aroused my imagination and creativity, and inspired me to create more tracks, similar-sounding tracks, to craft a conceptual, sonically cohesive album where the production style, instrumentation, and atmosphere are consistent across all tracks, making them sound like they belong together and creating a whole, immersive universe in itself.
And that's how "ASCENT" became the first of 13 tracks on my new album "SPATIUM UNIVERSUM" and the inspiration for the other 12 songs, which are basically variants of "ASCENT," with the same or similar sounds, atmosphere, and ambiance. These 13 tracks are like repetitive, undulating waves, coming one after the other, similar yet different, each with its own character and vibes.
And I cannot stop listening to this new album, it is addictive, and that's why I can not wait for you to discover it, and to let me know what you think of it (sincerely, I would love some feedback).
I would love to tell you more about this album "SPATIUM UNIVERSUM", but I'd rather do so after the full album's release, in another post dedicated to it. Patience is the mother of virtue, and yet waiting 2 days seems like an eternity.
