RUSH! by @domelgabor 2026
My latest release, "RUSH!" by @domelgabor 2026, is a soft techno/trance track with classic, raw industrial vibes softened by a delicate voice and lyrics about the need for a rush of love.
Looking at the state of the world, I wanted to write a song about love and the need to be with someone you love to escape reality. I aimed to create a techno track that blends a sweet melody with a soft voice while maintaining that industrial, trance-like, raw feel that I love.
With "RUSH!" I believe I found the perfect balance: it’s deep and dark enough to feel genuine and convince techno lovers, and melodic enough to attract more mainstream listeners. That raw industrial techno/trance edge, combined with a softer vocal, creates a winning mix with broader appeal.
Watching the news lately has become mentally draining. The world is becoming chaotic: wars and conflicts in many countries, geopolitical tensions, political and social unrest—such as riots, strikes, and protests—driven by dissatisfaction with government policies, economic inequality, or structural societal changes, fueled by high inflation, soaring food and fuel prices, and a loss of trust in democratic institutions, leading to major disruptions in public order.
That's a lot to process, especially with kids, as I'm concerned about their future and the kind of world they'll live in.
This is why I continue to write songs that delve into themes of anxiety, stress, mental health, love, and the complexities and challenges of life across different genres. These topics resonate with everyone as they consistently affect our daily lives through personal experiences, social media, films, TV shows, news, videos, documentaries, and more.
Nonetheless, I consistently strive to ensure my music remains uplifting, inspiring others to keep hoping for a brighter world and future, and to bring some light into the overwhelming darkness that envelops us.
Even though the world can seem bleak, I still believe there are wonderful aspects of life that deserve our efforts and are worth fighting for: family, friends, love, friendship, nature, justice, personal freedom, critical thinking, common sense, freedom of opinions and expression, and the preservation of goodness and fairness. These often require sacrifice and resilience to create a better world. Important areas include protecting loved ones, pursuing dreams, maintaining integrity, and nurturing hope, compassion, and meaningful connections, even in the face of challenges.
And that's exactly what this song is all about: wanting or needing a rush of love to feel loved, desired, wanted, secure, understood, protected, and cherished. Having someone to share things with, a shoulder on which to rest, an ear willing to listen, a partner to have your back, no matter what.
All these things have nearly disappeared in today's world, as people feel increasingly lonely and alone, physically and mentally. The world has changed drastically over the past 30 years, and so have social attitudes and behaviors, and not necessarily for the better.
I'm not necessarily one of those who say it was better before, but in a way, yes, for those things, it was much better before. Even my teenage daughter always tells me she would have loved to have been born during my time to experience the 80s and the 90s. An increasing number of Gen Z and Gen Alpha are starting to feel and think that way, and for good reason, given what they see in the world they are evolving in. Let's hope things go back to the way they used to be.
