“NOEM” by @domelgabor is a soft, melodic house track with minimalist Afro House vibes, with lyrics inspired by my daughter and her artistic creativity.

Creativity runs in the family

Creativity has been with me since a very young age; drawing and writing have always been part of me and still define who I am today. Over time, I have developed more ways to express my creativity, including photography, collages, montages, videos, and, more recently, creating music and applying my writing skills to write lyrics for my songs.

I draw inspiration for my lyrics and music from real life, raw emotions, personal feelings, and relatable experiences, creating songs that feel like your own memories set to music.

I tend to think that everything is an inspiration: the ocean, the sky, the mountains, the people, a look, a smile, a laugh, a cry, a word, a thought, a phrase, a quote, a flower, a scene, a moment, an instant, etc.

Everything around us is inspiration and part of creation: a poem, a story, a novel, a drawing, a painting, a photo, a video, a movie, a sculpture, a construction, a building, etc.

Not everything is art, but all is part of a creative process grounded in imagination and realization, a desire to transform an idea, a vision, or a thought into a creation, into something real, something you can see, feel, touch, hear, smell, and even taste.

In turn, I have always encouraged both my kids to express their creativity, and over time, I was happy to see it grow into complex, sophisticated creations.

My son has always been drawing; he even invented his own form of calligraphy and an alphabet, and he is also good at playing music, among other things.

My daughter loves writing stories, drawing, photography, and painting, among other things, and she even thinks about pursuing a career in design or the film industry.

I’m so proud of them and so happy that artistic creativity still runs in the family.

The inspiration behind the song

This song, “NOEM,” was inspired by my daughter’s name (short for "Noemie"), her personality, and her latest painting, the “Red Lilies,” which I photographed and used as the album cover to somewhat immortalize her work. (Yes, the cover is not AI; it is a picture of her painting).

For years, she has drawn and written, but recently she expressed a desire to start painting. A few weeks ago, I visited a local chain store named Meyer, which offers stationery, school supplies, paper goods, and painting supplies. There, I purchased a canvas, some brushes, and paints for her. She made that beautiful painting that I eventually named "Red Lilies".

Her painting and creativity inspired me to write a song in her name.

After writing a song for my son a few months ago, “FATHER & SON”, it was only fair that I write a song for my daughter. So, to Noemie, my daughter, this song is for you.
